Do you have vegan/gluten free options?


Yes! We do have the option to do vegan, gluten-free, and gluten-free vegan. There is a minimum order requirement of a half-dozen regular size or a dozen minis. There is the option to do a vanilla or chocolate base with either chocolate or vanilla icing, gluten free can have any icing flavour. Because we make the vegan icing with a vegan butter, there is only the option for chocolate or vanilla. Fondant is gluten free and vegan friendly.




Can you do peanut/nut free?


Yes, we can. We do take allergies very seriously. Because there are nuts in our kitchen facility, we can not 100% guarantee nut free. If specified on your order form, we sanitize and thoroughly clean all our equipment. Cocoa powder we use does say *may contain nuts* so if there is a severe allergy, we recommend sticking to vanilla-based cupcakes. Any fondant we use is nut-free.




Do you do wedding consultations?


Yes, we do free tastings and consultations for weddings. We recommend the consultation to be at least 4 months before your wedding date, the consultations average one hour in length. You’re able to try 4 of our flavours and have a one-on-one conversation to discuss details for your dream day! You can bring up to four people to accompany you. Wedding consultation appointments are available Tuesday-Saturday, from 10am-1pm. Please send an email to cupcakes.canada@gmail.ca to book a consultation. We do require a 50% deposit to secure your spot and full payment one month before the wedding date.




How much notice do you need for an order?


For in-store cupcakes we require two days notice. For custom orders of any kind minimum 1 week but as soon as you know would be best, there are limited spots for custom orders every week.




Is there a limit to how many cupcakes I can get from walk-ins?


For both of our sizes, there is a limit of 2 dozen. We would recommend placing an order ahead of time if you’d like anything above that amount.




When are minis available?


They are available in-store on Fridays and Saturdays, although you can pre-order them for any day.




How do you price your custom work?


Because every order we do here is completely custom, there is no one answer to this question. There is base pricing that we follow for every order and any custom work is priced at $30 per hour.




When do you bake your cupcakes?


We bake our cupcakes fresh every morning. We do not sell day-old cupcakes because they taste best 24 hours after baking, so we always want to deliver the best product we can.




If I buy cupcakes on Saturday, will they still be good for Monday?


Minis and regulars will be fine for the next day. Since minis are smaller, they will dry out faster, therefore we do not recommend them to last until Monday, regulars should be okay. If you are concerned about the freshness of our cupcakes they do freeze very well, do so as soon as possible for best results. Remove fondant before freezing and place back on before serving, remove from freezer the morning of serving.




Does fondant freeze well?


No, it does not. It tends to sweat if frozen which may lead to colour bleeding and have a ‘melted’ appearance. Remove any custom fondant work before freezing and place back on once thawed.




Should I put my order in the fridge?


No, the cold temperature (above freezing) will dry out the cake. For day-of and next-day consumption, we recommend leaving your order at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.




Why are you closed Sunday and Monday?


We found that our cupcakes sold best between Tuesday and Saturday and this schedule does not conflict greatly with our customer base. It was a happy medium for us and you!




Why are your cupcakes/cakes so expensive?


We pride ourselves on the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients. Since we make everything in small batches to ensure quality control, we order our ingredients in smaller quantities. Our buttercream is made with real butter, while common substitutes that reduces cost include shortening and lard.




When can I pick up my order?


We are open from 10am-6pm, so you’re welcome to pick up any time in between although we request the latest pickup be 5:30pm.
